What We Offer

The Senior Center offers a comprehensive program for individuals aged 55 and older, including daily meals, wellness support, and a wide range of social, cultural, and recreational activities.

Activities are held at the Senior Center and at various community locations. Transportation is provided when feasible to support participation in events, appointments, and outings.

Our goal is to promote independence, wellness, and connection among Hualapai elders through coordinated services and culturally meaningful care.

Nutrition Services

The Senior Services Program provides nutritious meals to support the health and well-being of Hualapai elders.

Meal Services Include:

  • Congregate meals served at the Senior Center
  • Home-delivered meals for eligible participants
  • Weekly sack lunches provided on Thursdays for Friday meals

Meal Times:

  • Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Congregate meals also provide opportunities for social connection and community engagement.

Transportation Services

Transportation is available to help elders stay connected to essential services and community activities.

Transportation may be provided for:

  • Senior Center meals and activities
  • Medical appointments
  • Shopping and local errands
  • Community and cultural events

Scheduling Requirements:

  • 3-day advance notice required for long-distance travel
  • 1-day notice recommended for local trips
  • Transportation for Senior Center meals is always prioritized

Staff may coordinate with partner agencies when additional transportation support is needed.

Support for Family Caregivers

The program supports informal, unpaid family caregivers who care for older adults or children with disabilities.

Services Include:

  • Information about available services
  • Help accessing community resources
  • Individual counseling and guidance
  • Support groups and caregiver training
  • Limited respite and supplemental services

Caregiver support is designed to reduce stress and strengthen caregiving skills.

Home Safety & Accessibility

Home modification services help improve safety, accessibility, and independence for eligible elders.

Services may include:

  • Ramps and accessibility improvements
  • Grab bars and safety equipment
  • Minor home repairs (roof, flooring, doors)
  • Heating, cooling, and electrical safety updates
  • Bathroom and mobility safety improvements

Services are provided on a limited basis and only after other resources have been explored.

Eligibility and approval are required prior to service delivery.

Case Management & Care Coordination

Case management helps elders and caregivers access and coordinate needed services.

Support includes:

  • Personalized care planning
  • Assistance navigating services and programs
  • Coordination with health and community providers
  • Advocacy and follow-up support
  • Referral to additional resources when needed

The goal is to help elders remain safe, supported, and independent in the community.

Community Outreach & Support

Outreach services help connect elders with available programs and resources.

Services include:

  • Information and referral assistance
  • Community education and awareness
  • Home visiting support
  • Assistance connecting to benefits and services
  • Follow-up for individuals needing additional help

Staff actively work to reach elders who may need support but are not yet connected to services.

Transportation Services Notice

Transportation is available for Senior Center activities, medical appointments, shopping, and local travel needs.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Long-distance trips: 3-day advance notice required
  • Local trips: 1-day notice when possible
  • No transportation requests will be denied for Senior Center meal attendance

Getting Started

All services require an intake assessment to determine eligibility.

Eligible individuals include:

  • Elders 55 and older
  • Individuals under 55 with disabilities (based on assessment)
